What happens when behavioral science meets creativity, community, and lived experience?

In this collaborative episode, Belle Stikeleather joins Bethany Ritz on WSLR’s The Best of Us: Being Human in Sarasota for a conversation about resilience, neurodiversity, and creating communities where more people can participate, contribute, and belong.

Together, they explore the constructional approach to behavior change, building repertoires from existing strengths, meaningful choice and assent, creativity as the recombination of learned skills and experiences, and the role of collaboration in sustaining inclusive communities. The conversation moves beyond asking, “What is wrong?” toward asking: Where are we now? Where do we want to go? What can we build to get there—and what will help it last?

It is a conversation about behavioral science, but also about being human: listening across differences, remaining curious about another person’s experience, creating genuine alternatives, and recognizing that resilience grows not only within individuals, but also through the environments and relationships we construct together.

Thanks for joining Resilience Coaching Collective!

We explore neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based strategies inspired by Israel Goldiamond’s constructional approach (expanded by T.V. Joe Layng and rooted in B.F. Skinner’s science) that build strengths and repertoires rather than simply eliminate problem behaviors.

This episode is part of our ongoing inclusion initiative, Spectrum Speaks, a Behavioral Teaching Solutions project dedicated to amplifying neurodivergent voices and creating safe spaces for growth.
